Digital Cameras (DSC)

DSC Image Automatic Orientation and Horizontal Leveling

Image orientation in Digital Cameras (DSC) has been done with low cost mechanical sensors in the past; however this has proven to be a poor solution with unreliability performance and annoying noise produced by those mechanical sensors. And the only function that mechanical sensors offer is orientation.

Many Digital Cameras (DSC) also use a wide angle lens. If not properly leveled the user’s view will be out of perspective. MEMSIC offers accelerometers that can not only be used for orientation but also for horizontal leveling indication. These sensors provide very accurate angle measurements by using our accelerometers to measure orientation and also determining the shooting angle from horizontal when the user pushes shutter button. Personal Navigation Devices (PND)

According to recent studies, there were more than 150 million turn-by-turn navigation systems worldwide in mid 2009, including about 35 million factory installed and aftermarket in-dash navigation systems, over 90 million Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) and an estimated 28 million navigation-enabled mobile handsets with GPS. Personal Navigation Devices are no longer a luxury, but a necessity.

In our fast paced lives, it is imperative to know where you are and where you are heading. Appliances
